Apply for Criminal Indigent Status

If you are seeking the appointment of a public defender based on your inability to pay for a private attorney, per Chapter 27.52, Florida Statutes, refer to the information provided below on how to file the completed Application for Criminal Indigent Status form and pay the $50 application fee to the Clerk of Courts.

For each application filed, a $50.00 fee is required to be paid within 7 days to the Clerk of Courts division in which the case is filed.
