The Health Insurance Marketplace Calculator provides estimates of health insurance premiums and subsidies for people purchasing insurance on their own in health insurance exchanges (or “Marketplaces”) created by the Affordable Care Act.
GENERAL FACTS FOR 2024
You should review your plan each year to ensure it meets your health and budget needs. Open Enrollment for 2023 is November 1, 2022, to January 15, 2023. The carriers offering individual Marketplace coverage in 2023 are Anthem, CareSource, Cigna, MHS/Ambetter, and US Health and Life dba Ascension Personalized Care. Certified Indiana Navigators are available to help you enroll in a plan.

The companies listed above are the only companies that are approved to sell individual Marketplace plans. If you are contacted by or receive information about another company trying to sell you individual Marketplace plans and the company is not listed above, please contact the Indiana Attorney General’s Office.
THE PROCESS FOR GETTING COVERAGE
Hoosiers should use the steps outlined below to complete their plan enrollment. Certified Navigators are available to answer questions and help you throughout the enrollment process.
WHAT TO DO IF YOUR 2023 COVERAGE WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE FOR 2024
For Marketplace Plan Enrollees
The Centers for Medicaid and Medicare (“CMS”) will automatically enroll you in another Marketplace plan with the same or a different insurance company. You do not have to stay in this plan if it does not work for you and can enroll in a different plan on healthcare.gov during Open Enrollment. If you do not enroll in a different plan on healthcare.gov, you will remain in the plan that CMS selected for you. Regardless of what plan you will have for 2023, you must pay the first month’s premium to make your plan effective. You will receive two notices: one from your current insurance company and one from CMS.

You will not be automatically enrolled in a plan like a person enrolled in a Marketplace plan. You will actively need to select a plan during Open Enrollment. You must pay the first month’s premium to make your plan effective. You will receive a notice from your current carrier, which will contain:
